The Jura is synonym of enchanting and varied landscapes. This region is a succession of rural places with pronounced identities. Soft valleys in the bottom-Jura, bluish mosaic of the ponds of the Bresse, vineyards of Revermont full of inlands. Small mountains wrinkled by crests, plateau marked out by isolated villages but, oh so typical, high-Jura and its steep montains crossed by torrents, region of lakes and waterfalls and its patchwork of colours from blue to emerald green, passing through sparkling yellows or the red rubies of the autumn.

The region of the lakes is a fascinating territory composed of lakes, counting 17, waterfalls, rivers and forests, of blind valleys and valleys, including numerous natural jewels. Among those jewels to be discovered, the site of the waterfalls of the Hedgehog (conservated area) is a real gem. Settled inland and surrounded by cliffs, the river of the Hedgehog, down its 805 metres, gushes down in a series of 31 jumps and 7 waterfalls, before crossing the lakes of Val and Chambly. A fully equipped pedestrian course of a distance of 7,5 kilometres allows to visit this exceptional natural site. The region of the lakes, where nature is preserved, is a territory where numerous natural activities can be practiced such as hiking, horse riding, biking, canyoning, it is also able to do via-ferreta, accrobranche, fishing...The region is also characterised by its rural places and its gastronomy. The cheeses,the wines and the beers, make the joy of the gourmet.

It is in the heart of this magnificent region, and more specifically in Clairvaux-les-Lacs, that settled down twenty years ago, the firm AF OPTIC. The family firm, created by Jean Marmillon is today managed by his son, Frank. AF OPTIC realises, from the production to the marketing, the frames of plastic glasses and acetate. . The workshop produces for french or foreign distributors, but it also created its own brand, MARYLL . All of the frames in acetate are created thanks to a home made method, but adapted to the current needs. Frank Marmillon is indeed equipped with all the digital controls that are necessary. « We are specialised in the mixtures of colours, which generates a lot of manual work ». The firm also realises exclusive models in small, average and big series
